Waiver of Examination/Examination Fee/Continuing Education Credit

ORDER OF ADOPTION

1388.6. Waiver of Examination Under Section 2946.

(a) When a California-licensed psychologist's has been licensed for at least five years and has allowed his/her license has to expired and has by not been renewed the license for at least within three years and has not been subject to discipline, the psychologist shall be required to file a new application, meet all current licensing requirements, pay all currently applicable fees, and take and pass that portion of the oral examination which examines knowledge of California laws governing the practice of psychology the Jurisprudence and Professional Ethics Written Examination . The written portion of the examination Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) shall be waived.

(b)If an applicant for licensure as a psychologist has been licensed in another state, Canadian province, or U.S. territory, for at least five years, and the license has not been subject to discipline, the applicant shall be required to pay all currently applicable fees, meet all current licensing requirements, and take and pass that portion of the oral examination which examines knowledge of California laws governing the practice of psychology the Jurisprudence and Professional Ethics Written Examination . The written portion of the examination EPPP shall be waived. (The amendments to this section shall apply to anyone applying for licensure on or after the effective date of this amendment.)

(c)An applicant for licensure who is a Diplomat of the American Board of Professional Psychology and who is licensed in another state, Canadian province, or U.S. territory, and the license has not been subject to discipline, shall be required to pay all currently applicable fees, meet all current licensing requirements and take and pass that portion of the oral examination which examines knowledge of California laws governing the practice of psychology. The written portion of the examination shall be waived.

(d) (c) An applicant for licensure who holds a Certificate of Professional Qualifications (CPQ) issued by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB), shall be deemed to have met the educational and experience requirements for licensure, shall be required to pay all currently applicable fees, and take and pass that portion of the oral examination which examines knowledge of California laws governing the practice of psychology the Jurisprudence and Professional Ethics Written Examination . The written portion of the examination EPPP shall be waived.

(e) (d) An applicant for licensure who has abandoned his or her application pursuant to section 1381.5 of these regulations and thereby must reapply for a license, shall be required to pay all currently applicable fees, meet current licensing requirements and take and pass the oral licensing examination. The written portion of the examination EPPP shall be waived.

1392. Psychologist Fees.

(b) The fee for a written examination is $332 $432 , and the fee for an oral examination is $129. The fee for a written examination taken on or after April 1, 1999 July 1, 2001 , shall be $432 $532 . An applicant taking or repeating all or any part of an examination, whether written, oral, or both, shall pay the full fee for that examination.

1397.63. Hour Value System

(b)(1) Licensees who serve the Board of Psychology as commissioners on any oral examination pursuant to section 2947 of the code or as selected participants in any written or oral examination development related function will receive four six hours of continuing education credit for each full day's service. "Full day's service" as an oral commissioner is defined as starting with the commissioner orientation, actively participating throughout the day and ending when the last candidate has been examined at the end of the day. "Full day's service" as a participant in any written or oral examination development related function is defined as beginning at the time designated by the board, actively participating throughout the day and ending when the function has been completed on that day. Continuing education credit shall not be granted if the licensee does not participate fully pursuant to these definitions. Licensees who serve as commissioners on any special oral examination will receive one hour of continuing education credit for each hour served, not to exceed four hours. Selected board experts will receive one hour of continuing education credit for each hour attending Board of Psychology sponsored Expert Training Seminars. Attendance at the Annual Meetings and/or Midwinter Meetings of the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards as a Board of Psychology Delegate shall count on an hour-for-hour attended basis, up to six hours of credit for each meeting. Any licensee who receives approved continuing education credit as set forth in subsection (b)(1) shall have his/her credit reported by the board to the board recognized accrediting agency.
